The City Without Lights

Ever stopped for a second?
Just to watch the flickering lights in the city
Ever stayed up all night?
Just to watch the dark kindle with the light

But have you ever wondered,
What it would be like if there were no lights?
Except for the muted shivers of the moon
And the droplets hidden in the winds of monsoon

Where will the beauty go when deprived of simulated glimmer?
How would you find your way without flashing symbols and signs?
What use will a shattered mirror be?
Who will you blame to find a lie to agree?

Confused, you walk the unknown road
Hope the dark will be your companion through the veil
Yet you feel more exposed
For there is no flash to be posed

As your eyes slowly adjust to the nightfall
Your pupils unfold with the awe of a new sight
You let your tears dance with the intrinsic vibrancy
The soil has awoken with the soft scent of benignancy

Your soul speaks through the wings of fireflies
Through the sapphire waves of the ocean
A reflection of a child is formed under the brims of blue
With moist eyes so familiar to you...

Do you remember her?
How she used to smile
Without proudly gained titles before her name
Without a society crafted frame

Although you might feel like a stranger to her
She knows who you are
Although you might think she belongs to the past
She is here to last

Embrace her for who she is
Love her for her genuine flaws
Hold her hand to let her know youre here too
Dont hide her,let her through....

As the dawn greets the city without lights
And the silhouettes are tangled in the crowd
Remember what it was like under moons lost spark
The truth is more visible in the dark...
