The Story Of The Phoenix

One of the most heartwarming memories of my childhood was when my mum would take out the huge book of bedtime stories and  read me a story from its magic dusted pages before I went to sleep.I loved letting my imagination fly around the fantasy kingdoms filled with spells, beautiful princesses and handsome princes, houses made out of candy, enchanted forests, true lovers and the best part, happy endings......I remember being so eager to read them myself that I wanted to start school immediately. So until I could start school ,I would gaze at those colourful pages and imagine what the story would be by looking at the pictures. But when I eventually grew up and started reading basically everything I could get my hands on,I realised that not every story had a happy ending, which I have to say was very crushing for me as I always imagined those colourful pictures in a very optimistic and idealistic way. So,recently I've been thinking about this, which made me wonder how I would imagine a story now ,looking at the images of life and decided to write it down.At first I wanted to tell the story using a poem but I decided to try writing in a different style for a change,so its not really good, but i hope you will enjoy it :)

-Once upon a time there was a young phoenix who lived in the luscious woods of Silvanus.A place created only for the creatures of the forest to safely live together in harmony while been protected by the Roman God,Silvanus.Blessed with the sacred drops of rain that nurtured the earth, woods  of Silvanus always glowed with emerald luminosity, full of broad leafed trees which were homes to many .But there was one tree bare of the green glimmer, its branches old and tired, holding nothing but a rusty cage drooping down like a shadow of a ghost at night.Inside the cage was where the young phoenix lived.Fearing she would be judged by others, she refused to leave her cage, punishing herself for her flaw of not being able to sing-being a faulty creature on such a flawless place...

She would pretend to sleep all day and ignore the songs sung by the others while inside she always dreamed how it would feel to open her beak and let her essence flow out through the soothing humming of her voice. However, reality caught her dreams when the sun settled down every night and she was left alone in the cage she built herself. Her longing tears would burn in the reflection of the moon, but they could never escape through her eyes- just as she couldnt escape her own self...

Everyday was a constant cycle of struggle with her own mind, body and soul. The yearning for freedom but also the fear of alienation, the need for company but also the dread of clustered isolation woundnt stop haunting her.So the phoenix stayed in her cage as the years passed by and her body weakened.

One night, no less special than the others something different happened for the phoenix  resentful of change. As she sat watching the moon like she always did,she suddenly started shivering as a strange feeling of heat started to conduct through her feathers. The heat grew higher with every breath she hassled to take.Oxygen was being suffocated by the heat that soon aflamed burning orange. She was dying before she even begun to live!  But all she could think was the years spent under the twisting bars of fear...And for the first time in her life she felt a tingle down her throat and painfully let out a desperate cry, soon followed by a chain of screams that led to a beautiful hymn of despair. She was singing! All of the other birds flew over to the new, beautiful voice they've never heard before, only to see it the phoenix burning in her cage.Everyone was shocked, they didnt know what to do as the phoenix stretched her crimson and gold wings for the first time and with one last sorrowful call, started dissolving into ashes. She had reached infinity...

However, little do we know about the meaning of 'infinity'...The phase of infinity will continue on a circular dimension where a new beginning blooms from every ending. That night wasnt the end for the phoenix,it was the beginning of her new youth. The next morning, when the other speices of birds visited the cage to set her soul free by releasing her ashes to the wind, they were shocked once again. Just as they were going to start, the anemic dust awakened with a tangerine spark, turning into a blaze. The ashes whirled around together gaining speed with the blaze and soon lighted up with a blinding red beam. The beam elegantly formed a shape of golden wings of a reborn young phoenix. She had returned from her own ashes! But this time, she saw her given existence as a gift and not a curse. So with the power of joy,she broke the lock of the cage with her beak and let herself flee to the beryl sky.Feeling the cool air embracing her wings, she let out a crystal tear ,no longer a reflection of her despair but a nourisher of her hope...Knowing she will only be more stronger with everytime her feathers aflame, she started to accept who she is....The young phoenix was now free.

Every strory has an end,but merely a narrator,I dont know what the ending of this story is.Did she live happily ever after? Did she feel less alone? Could she find a place where she belonged? I cant answer that...but I can say that she definitely didnt give up and lived happily ever fighter...
